SOLARGENIUS^ETHOT WATER SYSTEM

Introduction

SOLARGENIUS^ET harnesses clean, free solar energy to heat water quickly and effectively, even on cloudy days. Evacuated tubes have a vacuum that acts as a super-efficient heat trap. Heat pipes located within the evacuated tubes then conduct the heat trapped within the tube up to the header to heat water.

The copper heat pipes are also evacuated and attached to aluminium nitride heat fins to maximise solar energy absorption and heat transfer. On a sunny day, these heat fins and heat pipes can exceed 150^oC very quickly. As the heat is conducted to the top of the solar panel, a solar controller senses the rise in temperature and moves water to the panel to be heated. The heated water is then circulated back to a storage hot water cylinder.

A circulating pump moves the water to and from the panel. The system’s solar controller and circulating pump together with any auxiliary heating keeps water in the hot water cylinder at a constant temperature – ensuring you have a reliable supply of hot water heated by the sun.

How does the SOLARGENIUS^ET collector work

The SOLARGENIUS Evacuated Tubes work as follows:

1. Solar Absorption: Solar radiation is absorbed by the evacuated tubes and converted into heat.
2. Solar Heat Transfer: Copper heat pipes conduct the heat from within the solar tube up to the manifold header.
3. Solar Energy Storage: Water is circulated through the manifold header using a small circulating pump. Each time the water circulates through the header the temperatures is raised between 5-10oC eventually reaching the desired temperatures set at the solar controller.

SOLARGENIUS^ET systems can save up to 75% of your home heating costs, depending on how much hot water you use and your current water heating fuel. Further savings can be made if you connect SOLARGENIUS^ET to a MANIFLOW from LEAP system. You can also insulate your hot water cylinder and pipes or fit SOLARGENIUS^ET with a wetback to increase cost savings.

With current energy prices, SOLARGENIUS^ET will pay for itself within a few years. Plus it will continue to provide many years of free hot water after the initial cost is recouped.

SOLARGENIUS^ET is designed to be discreet and visually acceptable on all types of roof. Brackets and stands are available for flat roofs.

SOLARGENIUS^ET is designed for a service life in excess of 10 years. All systems comply with the latest European and Australian/New Zealand standards and come with comprehensive warranties against defects in materials or manufacture.

SOLARGENIUS^ET can be connected to your existing hot water cylinder or new hot water cylinder, either in mains or low pressure water systems.

On average, New Zealand receives 2,000 hours of sunshine each year – enough to keep you in solar heated water nearly year-round. Plus SOLARGENIUS^ET systems are fitted with backup heating to ensure you always have a ready supply of hot water even on days when the sun is not shining.
